It is hard to come up with the words to describe how WONDERFUL Breathe Health Center and Dr. Mia are! My teenage son and I have been seeing Dr. Mia for about four years now (every week for an adjustment with Mia and a short massage with phenomenal body worker Yvette Balderas), and our lives have been enhanced in countless ways. Dr. Mia is warm, kind, professional, knowledgeable and insightful. She is SO much more than "just" a chiropractor! She is an invaluable member of my family's health care team and provides advice and support for all aspects of our physical and emotional well-being. Breathe Health Center is my happy place!

Wonderful staff & great atmosphere! Dr. Mia knows her stuff. Can be tricky to find the first time & parking can be terrible - Downtown Berkeley. Plan to get there early so you’ll be on time.

Mia Curcuruto has been adjusting and creating balance for my daughter for 8 years. Mia is an expert in her field. I've seen chiropractors for about 5 years now, but needed one up in Berkeley. So I called Dr. Curcuruto's office, and set up an appointment for a "free consult and adjustment" today. At first, I thought Mia was an exceptional chiropractor and very friendly. She adjusted me perfectly, and I felt much better afterwards. She recommended a massage to help relieve my tense upper back, which I agreed. I asked if I could try a 10 minute massage as a trial, and although she mentioned that their minimum was 20 minutes, she would allow me to try it today. After the 10 minutes was up, the masseuse told me that there was a 20 minute minimum. At this point, I was already a bit skeptical of their ethical practices, but decided to ignore the snafu. After the massage, Mia told me that I owed $60. I was confused by the charge, as the massage was $1 per minute. She told me $20 was for the massage and $40 was for the adjustment, and that I was never told that the adjustment was free. I told her that the receptionist told me the consult and adjustment were free over the phone when I made the appointment. She aggressively corrected me that their service flyer says that the consult was free, but the adjustment was $40. Annoyed at the discrepancies between what the receptionist and Mia were saying, I reminded her that I called over the phone and clearly didn't have their flyer on hand. If she had a problem, she should be disciplining her receptionist, not a new client. She proceeded to tell me that she couldn't do "business with someone like me" and that I should "have a nice life, leave, and never come back." So I did. Word of advice — please have better communication with your receptionist. I would have loved to continue your services in the future, but your utter disrespect for me and unprofessional behavior are unforgivable. If Mia and her practice are thirsty enough to scam a college kid (with a broken back) out of $40, she should really reevaluate her choices as a healthcare provider.

Excellent!!!!! Attention to the patient, highly skilled, puts you at ease and has you feeling tip top. I've been to many Chiropractors and trust is a big thing, Dr. Mia gets it- and much much more!
