“You’re better than Morphine!” That’s what I told my physical therapist Eric Connolly on my second appointment with him at Blackstone Valley Physical Therapy Services. And I meant it! I may be premature in writing this review, but I’ve had such an excellent experience that it’s worthy of the praise this early on. I went into physical therapy a bit skeptical that it would help the severe pain that I’ve had in my knee for months. I was also a bit depressed as I am an avid exerciser and this knee problem is a huge obstacle to that. On my very first appointment, Eric spent the entirety of the 40 minutes just assessing the basics: how I walk, how I bend, my range of motion, etc. etc. It was more than any doctor had done up to that point, and for the first time, I felt heard! He told me how he thought I might have a Baker’s cyst in the back of my knee - something no one else had pointed out (though to be fair to my doctor, looking back on my paperwork, it was written that it was suspected on my PT order). After my first appointment, I couldn’t believe how good I felt when I left there. I wouldn’t say I was cured, but I noticed an improvement with all the stretching and rotating we had done. A couple of days later, the Baker’s cyst I had ruptured and I couldn’t walk. I spent the night in the ER, but after an X-ray, I was sent home with instructions to see my Orthopedic doctor. I had a PT appointment the next morning, and though I was on crutches and couldn’t put any weight on the foot – I went into PT anyway. Eric worked with me on weight bearing and how to properly use the crutches! He gave me some exercises to work on getting my movement back. When I went back a few days later, the pain from the ruptured Baker’s cyst had subsided and we got right to work on correcting and strengthening. One aspect that truly sets Eric apart is his unwavering commitment to my well-being. Eric's extensive knowledge of the human body and his ability to apply that knowledge to my treatment have been evident throughout our sessions. He consistently adapts the exercises to suit my evolving needs, making adjustments based on my progress and any challenges I encountered along the way. Throughout each session, he has consistently made sure that I felt comfortable and safe during every exercise. His attentiveness and encouragement is inspiring and has motivated me to push myself beyond what I thought was possible when I walked in the door. In the short-term, this has resulted in improvements in my strength, mobility, and function. My knee is not “better” yet, but I’m very optimistic that we will get there! Moreover, Eric’s kind and patient demeanor has made me feel valued and heard, further enhancing the therapeutic experience. His ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner helps me understand the purpose behind each exercise and the overall trajectory of my recovery. I will write another review when I’ve completed physical therapy, but for now, I am so impressed with Blackstone Valley Physical Therapy Services. The facility is beautiful, clean, and easily accessible. The staff is warm and friendly. You couldn’t ask for better! It’s tough to get in there as they are so busy, but it is worth waiting the couple of weeks for them to fit you in!

I have been a patient at BV Physical Therapy for many years. A few months ago I had severe neck pain with headaches. Dr. Jess and Lori worked with me for several months. They gave me exercises to do at home in addition to the therapy I had at the facility. I am feeling so much better. Lori and Dr. Jess are masters in their profession. I highly recommend them. The front desk is very welcoming and helpful.

Dr.Jessica created an plan to increase my balance and strength after a fall and Fractured sacrum. She was professional, kind ,skilled and encouraging. She challenged me to do strengthening exercises and I am stronger because of her hopeful encouragement. I felt so comfortable and confident in her care. She was insightful and observant of the way I exercised and often explained and redirected my actions. I highly recommend Dr Jessica.

David was awesome! I went in looking for help as to how to prevent further injuring my back and help with an arthritic knee. David taught me exercises that are so easy to do at home. Definitely recommend BVPTS and David. I’d ask for him personally!

I have been in and out of physical therapy, to countless doctors and shoulder specialists appointments, for acupuncture and chiropractor appointments to treat a chronic problem with my shoulder. This was my third time in physical therapy and decided I needed to try a new place. My husband went to Blackstone Valley physical therapy after shoulder surgery and was very pleased with them so I thought I would give them a try. Mitch was excellent! He was very thorough in my initial evaluation and I felt I was pushed a little more to work through my issues during my physical therapy sessions than in the two prior times I went for physical therapy. There were symptoms of clicking in my shoulder joints that everyone had been so dismissive of in prior appointments as “that happens as we get older”. Mitch listened to everything I offered regarding symptoms and what I thought were potential causes and together we seem to have gotten to the root cause. I now go to the gym with an exercise program designed to strengthen the shoulder muscles. While my shoulder won’t be back to normal overnight I’m happy to report I can now lift a gallon of milk with what used to be my dominant arm!

In early March I had major cervical spinal surgery at MGH and I was in a hard collar for 3 and 1/2 months. I had previously seen Dr. Mitch Goldman for a shoulder injury and received excellent care from him. I reached out to him prior to my surgery for advice and to let him know I would be coming back for rehab after my home PT ended. He kept in touch with me and initially saw me for balance and strengthing training while still in my collar. Once he was able to begin working on my neck we proceeded with an intensive rehab process. I went to the pool with Marcia who was so helpful and fun then back to the gym with Mitch. I really thought I'd never get back my strength but with Mitch's clinical exercise expertise, encouragement, empathy and compassion I am in better shape then prior to my surgery. My family and I will always seek him out for any future needs. I can't thank Dr. Mitch and Marcia enough. Top quality care in the area. Ellen Pond

I had a fantastic experience at BVPT! I worked with two physical therapists on a program that helped me recover from a spinal fusion. Fantastic skill and care was provided for me, along with understanding and empathy. 💕

I am very happy with how well I have progressed at BVPTS. My hip pain was was very bad and bothered me day and night. Eric was successful in eliminating the pain . I also performed his therapy procedures at home using the illustrated documents that Eric provided. I am grateful for his expertise and friendly demeanor and taking the time to explain how each exercise benefits my particular issue. Thanks BVPTS
