What a fantastic experience. Although visiting the ER is never for a good reason, but I have to say, the team at Black River made everything as comfortable as possible. From the moment we entered the receptionist greeted us with a smile, the nursing staff was phenomenal; Janelle was an absolute peach, and our doctor, Jared, explained everything and made us feel very comfortable. We were in and out in less than two hours. If we ever have to go back to the ER while in the area again, we would pick again, Black River hands down.

Had to take my 7 year old in to Emergency on a Sunday for an ear infection. Service was prompt, the doctor was extremely informative. Thank you

This hospital is corrupt. I've gotten my third four-digit bill from them for my wife's cPAP machine; which will now have cost six times what it would have to just buy the machine myself. After being told by them that insurance was going to cover it. Edit: After speaking with them, it was revealed they were still billing my wife's old insurance instead of mine. Mistakes happen, sure. But they continued to just send the bill to the old one for 6 months instead of contacting us and telling us about the issue. Rumor around town is how mismanaged and close to shutting down this place is, and this rumor seems true considering this seems like nothing more than an attempt to scam people. Edit 2: Did some comparing of their prices versus online. The minor offender in their billing seems to be the machine, and the major offender is the masks. Machine is $260 per month for 5 months. ~$1000 online. The mask we were charged anywhere from $128-$311 by them. The same mask online is $30. Do yourselves a favor and avoid this place. To anyone who gets taken here in an ambulance, my sincerest condolences on your likely imminent bankruptcy.

My mom had an emergency visit at Black River Hospital and was handled so professionally. The staff, nurses and doctor were so experienced and thorough with her situation.

I went in there out of nowhere after I accidentally got stuck with one of my fishhooks. They did a very fast and efficient job of removing it. Nice people to deal with. I’m from the Twin Cities. Thanks Again!!!

So I went to the emergency room because of a bad cough was received ok at the front desk but after that it was a disaster dr came in to check me out and I coughed 3 times for him and he said he could hear something so he ordered a x-ray got the test done and dr came back to the room and said I had pneumonia could be viral or could be bacterial WTH didn’t he know? I also asked him about the swelling on both my legs and his response was it’s probably from the pneumonia. Anyway he gave me a breathing treatment and a prescription for antibiotics and steroids and an inhaler sent me home drove from brf to Arkansas waited a couple of days and I wasn’t feeling any better so I went to the emergency room here in Arkansas and low and behold I didn’t even have pneumonia I had blood clots in both legs and my lungs what a joke this place was I will never forget it as it could have gone a lot worse if I hadn’t gone to a doctor here I also wouldn’t go there ever again no matter what happened MORONS

This place has a horrible administration and their clinic management is even worse. Expect long delays, overworked staff, a high turnover rate among staff and a poor hospital infrastructure. Most providers I came across have either quit this place or want to quit soon. I will no longer choose this place for my loved ones or family based on personal bad experiences.

My husband works over the road, and while driving through Wisconsin, started exhibiting signs that he could be having a stroke, so I had him park in a rest area and call an ambulance. The care and genuine concern for an out of town patient was comforting for me being 1000 miles away. The staff and doctors did everything right, and were happy to include my distant input over the phone while face to face with my husband. In the end, it turned out to be a mild case of Bells Palsy, which was actually a blessing given the alternatives! Thank you all at Black River Hospital for your professionalism, and genuine concern and care for my husband at a time I couldn’t be there for him. It gave me comfort knowing he was in caring, capable hands and I’ll be forever grateful to you all!
