I can highly recommend Birmingham Physical Therapy for your therapy needs! I had previously used another popular therapy franchise and was put on machines and left alone with staff who had other patients they were assigned to at the same time...The staff at BPT are knowledgeable, helpful, attentive and highly skilled...It is obvious that they care about their patients treatments...Kristen was my therapist and she quickly identified where my pain was coming from and helped me find a resolution...With her help and suggestions, I am now pain free! She also gave me good advice about another issue I was having and I am so appreciative!

I have been to Birmingham Physical Therapy a number of times over the last 10 years. They have always done a great job. They especially helped me completely rehab my shoulder after surgery and I’m back on the tennis court! I really like that they give you 45 minutes of undivided attention. That is plenty of time for manual work and range of motion work and some exercises. This is much better than other places I’ve been to who mostly have you doing exercises by yourself and then they come back every now and then to tell you what to do next. I highly recommend Birmingham Physical Therapy.

Just want to give a shout out to Chris, Kristen and all the gang at Birmingham Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine. I recently completed my rehab from total knee, and I must say I have never had a better experience. I have previously had 2 total hip replacements and rotator cuff surgery and I can honestly say the care and treatment I received from Birmingham Physical Therapy with my recent total knee surgery was second to none. The one on one, personal care sets them apart. If I am ever in need of Physical Therapy treatment in the future I will definitely be back. Keep up the good work and stay safe. Richard U

Years ago I had gone to several different physical therapists who didn't help very much, when a friend recommended Birmingham Physical Therapy for my neck problem that was very painful with little range of motion. Andrea fixed it and it's never come back. Since then I have used them for a number of different issues including rehab after major shoulder surgery and several back pain/nerve problems from herniated discs. (My doctor at Andrews Clinic also recommended them--I told him that was where I had already planned on going). I've worked extensively with Ellen and Kimberly, and now and then with Chris and several others. These therapists are outstanding--they are so knowledgeable! They do a lot of hands-on therapy, and the environment there is wonderful. Everyone is so pleasant and cheerful and we always get one-on-one treatment. They provide the best treatment with the most up to date techniques, and you can tell how much they care about their patients. I will never go anywhere else, and I have recommended them to all my friends and family.

This is an excellent PT Clinic. As a Retired PT myself, it is the clinic that I would choose. I am attending a twice a week Fit For Life exercise class there and I never see a patient just sitting on a machine doing reps of exercises. Each patient has the one on one attention of a PT! That is how it should be. Melanie Cosio DPT leads the Fit For Life class and it is the best thing that I have ever done for myself. The small class size means that she can instruct everyone so that you are doing the exercise correctly and modify if needed.

Birmingham Physical Therapy is amazing. When you walk in you are greeted with a smile by the receptionist’s and no wait time. The one on one with a PT is awesome because they make sure you are doing everything correctly and safely. They also work as a team to make sure everyone is treated correctly. Lastly, I want to say that Melanie Cosio and Kristen Fountain have been incredible helping me recover from a knee injury. I couldn’t ask for better care.

I highly recommend this clinic. Currently I attend their “Fit for Life” class, two days per week. This small, group fitness class for those 55 and older is led by Melanie Cosio, DPT. She provides a great program to improve core and extremity strength, one that is individualized to accommodate the specific issues/limitations of each of the 6 or so, participants. Melanie encourages class members to push ahead and to add new challenges as they become doable. The small group socialization component cannot be underestimated. Exercise in this class with a familiar group, adds to the enjoyment for me. Lastly, after 6 months of attending this class, I have noted significant improvements in strength and balance. “Fit for Life” under the direction of Melanie, is the best thing that I’ve done for myself, in a very, long time!

My wife Bonnie and I both go to Fit for Life classes led by Melanie Cosio. She is a therapist and also has background in CrossFit training. The classes are small by design so each participant gets adaptation for each exercise so no one injures muscles or joints. Most of the class members are older or continuing exercise after surgery or injury. Wonderful class.
