From Barry I recently went to Beth for physical therapy for pelvic floor rehabilitation from prostate surgery. I was a little apprehensive at first being a male and having a female therapist about a very personal male issue. Rest assured Beth was nothing but professional and was very aware of my comfort zone. She made me feel at ease in my personal conversations with her and talked a level that was easy for me to understand. I highly appreciated her professionalism and with her help I am well on my way to recovering. I highly recommend her if you find yourself in a similar situation. Thanks for your help.

Beth has provided excellent PT, both prior to and post Prostatectomy If you’re going through this procedure, I highly recommend you contact Beth for your PT needs. She is a professional, courteous, caring and kind person who will help you make your recovery easier and faster. Remember though, it is up to you to do what she prescribes. It does get better when you do your part! Thank you Beth for all you have done and continue to for me.

I am so grateful for Beth and her practice. I was very nervous to go at first, and I'm glad I did. She did a wonderful job explaining things, creating a calm environment, and building trust before even starting treatment. I think all healthcare providers could learn from her about bedside manner.

After RP followed by radiation, I had great difficulty with bladder control. Frequency, urgency, and leakage were all problems. My urologist recommended finding a pelvic floor physical therapist. Beth Shelly was the only physical therapist that that found who specialized in pelvic floor and had a doctorate in physical therapy. Beth is also completely professional in discussing these personal issues. I saw success in the first couple weeks but as the therapy progressed in a period of about 3 to 4 months I was where I was at prior to radiation. Beth has empowered me to continue my therapy at home with the hope that I may be able to live life without a urinary shield in the near future.

Beth Shelly provided mentorship for me as I work towards certification in biofeedback for pelvic floor muscle dysfunction. She is an evidenced based therapist and researcher who sets a high standard for out field. She was incredibly helpful as a mentor because she took me out of my comfort zone in a way that challenges thinking and encourages growth. I highly recommend her as a mentor!

When I was first referred to Dr Beth Shelly, I was experiencing severe pelvic pain and urinating every 10 minutes around the clock. The pain was so severe that I couldn't even stand up straight. I truly wished that God would end my life. I had been suffering with this pain for 3 months and Beth was the first doctor that truly understood my pain and was willing to help me. She explained what treatments I would be receiving and that this would be a joint effort. She would administer the medical treatment and I would have to follow through with my pt exercises at home. Within a week of the bladder diary treatment plan that she had me do, I was urinating much less. Beth was very supportive and was always available to call if I had a flair up. She was very gentle during my physical examinations and explained what she was doing and why. I would highly recommend her to everyone.

I'm positive that I would not have got my results with out Beth. I live near Peoria, IL and the 75 minute drive was well worth it. After surgery I went from zero bladder control to almost completely dry, and only In the first three months with Beth. We expect complete control by 6 months. The first month it felt impossible, but Beth got the results we wanted. Thank you so much, and also a Thank You to Chicago University of Medicine for recommending you. Thank You!!!
