Physical therapy can be a daunting process. However, BenchMark creates a genuine friendly and caring atmosphere that makes patients comfortable and look forward to their appointments. They have empowered my sister to take charge of her health and fitness journey. For the first time, my sister is motivated. Thank you BenchMark and Abbey. The attached photos are filled with messages from grateful patients.

Yesterday, I visited this center for the first time to complete my physical therapy evaluation. When I entered the center, there were approximately 7 patients and 7 staff members in the center which seemed overcrowded. PT Carlston per her name tag, approached me and introduced herself. She requested that I follow her. We walked about 5 ft from the receptionist desk and she sat down in the middle of the center surrounded by patients and staff. Feeling uncomfortable, I asked her if she was going to conduct my evaluation in the open setting. She responded, "Yes!" I stated that there was no confidentiality and disclosing my medical information would be a HIPPA violation. She immediately stated, "No, only if I say your information it would be a violation of HIPPA." I said, "Okay," and I sat down assuming she would allow me to read my information on her laptop and I would confirm it without disclosing my PHI. However, she made it clear that she could not allow me to read my information on her laptop because she had other patients' records open on her laptop. So, she began reading my medical information out loud! I immediately stopped her and told her that I don't consent to disclosing my medical information to other patients and staff members who aren't involved with my treatment. I asked for the evaluation to be completed in a private room. She stated that there was no private room to conduct my evaluation. She also stated that evaluations were always conducted in the open setting disclosing PHI. Then, I requested a copy of the HIPPA policy that I signed, so I could contact the Compliance Officer. There HIPPA policy didn't have the contact information for the Compliance officer. After leaving the center, I called the corporate office and spoke to Pam, the receptionist. She gave me the wrong number for Yolanda, the compliance officer. I continued to call until I finally spoke to the customer support rep. I filed a report and requested a return call. As of today, Yolanda has not called me regarding this matter. The clinician, Allison Guengerich or Carlson, and the center, have no regard of the HIPPA law, and protecting patients' personal information. The clinician is extremely incompetent about the HIPPA law as evident by her comments and actions. She actually tried to convenience me that it was OKAY for her to disclose my medical information to others. The quality of care was extremely poor! In my opinion, the center was too small to accommodate the amount of people that were present. I do not recommend this center and I am dissatisfied with the quality of care.

I had a fantastic experience with Benchmark in Avondale/Decatur. I really enjoyed working with Krysta, the lead PT. Her depth of knowledge, the variety of exercises and therapy I experienced, the way she listened and heard what I had to say about why I was experiencing in my recovery, and the relaxed and fun atmosphere of the office made every visit enjoyable. Even the administrative staff handling my insurance process made things easy and pleasant. I have followed their exercise recommendations carefully and am recovering very well from my surgery and anticipate a full recovery. I highly recommend this office

Benchmark in Decatur-Avondale has been wonderful! Krista Posid was my primary PT, and I've also worked a lot with Darton. Both are professional, personable, and 100% positive. Their manner motivates me to push beyond my usual limits, and all the staff contribute to a warm & slightly demanding environment--just what I need! I'm so grateful for the their help.

I was in a car accident December of 2019 and needed PT for my back and shoulder. Krysta was amazing! She took the time to really understand my condition, set personalized goals with me for what recovery would look like, and created a tailored plan of exercises that really restored my mobility. I could barely use my left shoulder when we started our sessions, and after 5 months of rehab I felt like a new woman! Krysta's bright and encouraging personality always made our sessions enjoyable, even when the exercises were tough! And Cheo at the front desk is simply delightful! He always has a smile and a jovial attitude, and he definitely made coming in early in the mornings a LOT more pleasant. He also greets patients by name, which is really nice, because it makes you feel like you're more than just a patient. If you ever need physical therapy, I would HIGHLY recommend coming to see Krysta, you won't find better care or service anywhere!

This location (Decatur/Avondale) is the amazing! From the moment you call to make your appointment with Cheo to your first evaluation visit with the PTs (mine was w/Krista) and beyond - everyone is pleasant and fun to engage. I witnessed patients being treated with care and empathay regardless of ailment, age or gender. All of the staff make it a super fun environment playing good music and posting funny trivia questions that make you look forward to your appointments! You won't be disappointed.
