If you have an emergency, avoid this hospital at all costs. I had an emergency and tried this place once, never again. The security guards will harass you the moment you try to get out of the car then go on about saying your trespassed and if you don't leave now you'll be arrested. I said I was in too much pain to drive and the officers wouldn't even let me call someone to come get me and my car. I do not live in this city nor am I from here. Like I said, it was an emergency. Kings daughters saved my life as I had internal gangrene having to perform an emergency surgery. Again avoid Bellefonte at all costs, the security there almost cost me my life.

I had a horrible experience with OLBH while my mother was here. I spoke with several people trying to address my concern. No one seemed to care or felt that nothing was done wrong. My mother was weak and ordered to have nothing by mouth. It took therapy 3 days to conduct a swallow test and they only had to come from the 1st floor to the 3rd floor. Test was done ordered her to have only thickened liquids and chopped food and to be fed. Next tray was given and a few moments later her Dr came into her room during patients rounds. She observed my mother having a tray by herself and was struggling and had liquids spilled all over her. The Dr was excellent and noted everything in her chart. She also put the order in again for her to have special food and to be fed. Even the names of the nurses working at that time. Unfortunately that was her last meal she died that afternoon. Not one person I spoke to acknowledged that fact that there was a lack of communication. And that orders were not followed. I will forever be heartbroken by the negligent care my mother received. Other things happened also, one being uncaring attitudes from the nurses. I thought by reaching out that someone might appreciate the fact that these things happened and could investigate and see it didn't happen to other patients. Unfortunately the ones I spoke to was not interested in the care of the patients. They spoke to me as if they were taking up for themselves personally and not one bit concerned about patient care. Past, present or future. If they didn't have patients to care for they most certainly would not have a job! I would think that patient care of all aspects, big and small would be top priority. Sure was not the case with my experience.

My family physician is in the network so I get referred here for Radiology, which I've had nothing but good experiences there, but I've accompanied family here to the ER and some hospital stays and fundamental things like communication seems pretty appalling. Different people coming in asking the same questions over and over BEFORE you're admitted doesn't give you a sense of assurance. I witnessed the staff having to look 6 times, yes 6, to find a portable med pole that would hold a charge between my room and Radiology. If I have a choice I go elsewhere.

Best Place Ever! I took My 18 month old daughter tonight and She had a fever and stiff neck! We were very worried. The staff was wonderful as always. The doctor who treated her was very thorough and so good with her. It turned out to be strep throat. Also We weren't there very long. It's definitely worth driving a hour and twenty minutes for me!

Poor ER Doctors. I almost lost all function in my hand due to incompetence. I was the only one in the waiting area for an hour with a crushed wrist while the check in nurse talked on her cell phone. Then when I finally got a bed I waited another 45 min. While the ER Doctor laughed and told jokes at the nurses station. When he finally got around to me he had zero bedside manner. He treated me like I was inconveniencing him.. He was wrong on how to "set" my wrist. He Used no pain meds. Yet when I got my discharge paper work I was charged for 4 things I never received. When I got to the Doctors office the next day. She was appalled at the way the Doctor set my wrist and how he used nothing for pain while doing it. Three surgeries later I still have limited mobility and my fingers are numb. She let the hospital administration know what happened. And the way ER Doctor set my wrist.

Absolutely horrible hospital. Even patients who arrive via ambulance are given no priority and must wait for hours. Employees and doctors are not sincere or professional at all. Worst experience ever was with Dr. Crock in the ER - his attitude and bed manner were deplorable and he did not care what my mother-in-law had to say about her medical issues that she was there for - he literally admitted "I did not listen to her" and assured us that if we used Bellefonte again that the service would not improve. Literally said that!! This establishment is a total joke and should be shut down. I would not trust them to treat a hamster.

We have 2complaints. But first let me say that moms nursing staff was great let’s get that out of the way first. Moms nursing staff on the second floor were great. #1, I don’t know if the Drs talk to each other or what. The Womb care Dr. came in this morning and seemed very concerned that moms leg was still very red and very swollen from a womb on her ankle. They had marked with a pen how far up her leg the redness was which was almost 1/2 way up her lower leg from a womb on her ankle. She had been on very strong antibiotics and different antibiotics the past 5 day due to the reason mom had been admitted in the first place. They said they didn’t know what was causing her white blood cell count to be so elevated and for her to be running a fever of around 104. So the womb care Dr couldn’t understand why her leg was still infected. Which we were told when she first came into the hospital the infection around the spot on her ankle wasn’t severe enough to cause the white cell count to be as high as it was. Her leg was not red and swollen until I believe the second day. All there was ,was a spot about the size of a nickel and a little red around it. Remember now, the womb care Dr was concerned why her leg was still swollen and red. He ask if they had x-rayed her leg to see if there was a possible blood clot. Now this was this morning. No x-ray was ever done and at around 4:00pm her infectious disease Dr came in and said they were sending her home this evening. This after her leg has not got any better. They had marked it and the redness was still at or slightly above the marks they had made 3 days ago. So again do these Drs talk to each other or not. One Dr says he’s very concerned about the way something looks and he’s concerned with it and wants an X-Ray, that never was done, to check for a blood clot and then another Dr comes in and sends her home. There was someone else sitting with mom at the time or I would have brought this to the Drs attention. #2 has to do with handicap access into the hospital after 9:00 pm-6:00am. I am handicapped their handicap parking is all at and around the main entrance to the hospital on a lower level than the ER entrance. After 9:00pm all the entrance doors are locked and you have to enter through the emergency room entrance. From the lower level where all the handicap parking is you have to either take a set of steps or if your in a wheelchair you have to go out on the road or cross the road from the over flow parking and climb a hill the get to the ER entrance. Remember it’s dark you’re handicap either in a wheel chair or slowly walking with a cain and you’re crossing a dark road then you have to climb a hill. There was once while mom was in the hospital they had to move her into the ICU. My sister calls me crying telling me mom is having problems breathing and her oxygen was at 81 with 60%oxygen. I rush to the hospital at 4:30am. only to have to struggle to get up the outside steps. Because there’s no handicap parking at the ER entrance where you have to enter after 9:00. Then a couple other times I had to spend the night by moms bedside and I had to switch at 11:00pm with the person that had stayed the evening with mom. Again I had to struggle with the steps because the only doors that were open were the ER doors. Why not have a guard desk at the main entrance just like you do in the ER. At the Main Entrance to the hospital us that are handicapped can enter your hospital with ease at all times. Rants over

After being treated so well the first time, I went back for more care with several of their drs and surgeons. I have always been treated with care, efficiency, courtesy, and very knowledgeable personnel in each field, including cleaning staff. Appreciate their attitude of service. They seem to keep up with the latest in their fields.
