I was forced to put my mother here, my mom was made worse when they restricted food, fluids and never change her waste bag that she had to have due to a bowl blockage, they took her off her lasix that she needed to keep fluid off her heart due to heart failure, her ankles and feet blew up like balloons, that alone made her fail faster. She told me the dr. eng never looked in on her and she told me she felt like she was dying so i told them to call for an ambulance and get her out of there now, they tried holding her hostage telling me to wait for the dr. I then threatened that they get her to a Hospital now, she died a few weeks later at the Hospital. I heard a poor old woman screaming for ever when id visit my mother, my mom said that went on all night, all day. This place is a Horror of Hell.

Had an absolute nightmare trying to get a hold of a loved one at this facility. The staff was very unprofessional answering phones and gave a lot of attitude. One particular staff member, Eugene, was especially rude and condescending on the phone. The lack of professionalism is honesty scary. Ella and Deeta were very rude. Ella hung up on use twice cause she didn’t feel like dealing with getting us connected to our loved one. When we finally got connected it was the wrong patient… we tried to get the corporate number from the staff so we could reach out to a facility manager and they refused to give us any kind of contact info for management of the facility that our loved one stays at, which is strange. What’s even more strange is she claimed it was a HIPPA violation? Which I don’t believe is true… every facility should have access to a business contact for their facility manager. The whole experience was very alarming and I’m honestly concerned about my loved ones well being. The nurse, deeta, kept asking for our personal information, which we didn’t feel comfortable giving. It made us feel very uncomfortable, especially when we’re asking for the number to reach out to for corporate inquires. Also, we don’t know deeta, and what her intentions were with our personal information and the name of the loved one in their care… that’s why there are corporate numbers for situations like these… which we were refused access to. We’ll be reaching out to our hospice manager and illuminating the unprofessional behavior in this facility.
I’ve been a pastor in San Francisco for 25 years and have helped people find a place for rehab and extended care several times. Bay View has been the most caring, patient, and professional of them all. My friend is not only well taken care of but he is loved.
I would leave negative stars if possible. This place is a dump. Social worker refused to do her job, you can never reach loved one by phone, food is terrible, corporate could care less about how the place is run, baths/showers were skipped, OT was ignored....don't send your loved one here. I had to bring in Adult Protective Services. Even after that, staff refused to do their job. Corporate ignored my messages. The message is clear, they don't care. The place needs a serious update, new phone system, and administration that cares.
Many of the people that work here are very very rude and the rooms are dusty and dirty they usually don’t change the people unless the family asks if they can🤦🏼♀️. If your going to send your loved ones here please be/find someone to be with them through the whole day or find another place to take them. They take other people’s clothes and belongings. If your gonna leave your family members clothes/belongings put there names on it or on a label take it by me because my grandpa had blankets and hats and the person that was next to him sharing the room always stole it and had to audacity to wear it 😡😡
My mother is a resident at bayview hospital with dementia. Sadly the nurses keep stealing her flowers because she no longer can speak. Don't send your love ones there for care!!!!
You can never get through to talk to your loved one. I have been on the phone transferred from here to there...phone ringing 50+ times! This is totally unacceptable. I wonder how the patients are actually being treated...wow. So, so sad! They can call me to confirm my appt. to make sure I'm coming to visit, but couldn't call me to postpone my visit due to someone being exposed to COVID. I got to Alameda and it was on lockdown. What happened to a courtesy call? Total insanity!!!
My brother died January 7th 2022. After being sent to Alameda hospital from the Bay View rehabilitation. I’ve called for 3 weeks to ask about my brother’s belongings cloths, no response from them the social workers do not have answer machines to even leave a message . I was going to let them have his cloths, but expected at least a call about picking them up . Nothing to this date ! Bad place for your loved ones!
