Was skiing up at Heavenly Friday evening and I had an eye stye and my wife a sore knee. We arrived at 4:30 pm and gracious staff checked us in and we saw everyone (doctor/nurse practioner/EMT) each competent and clear and we were out within an hour with some mitigation. Of course home follow up is needed but a perfect interim stabilization visit. Highly recommend.

I went in recently due to trauma with my knee. Staff was great 10/10 and I was seen very prompt. However I’ve been calling for a week now to get updates regarding receiving an MRI. No one will answer the phone or call me back. After calling repeatedly 3 times somebody finally picked up and explained to me they were waiting on my insurance’s approval and that I could try calling my insurance. Awesome, no problem, gave my insurance a call. They have received no requests from Barton. I called Barton back to inform them and possibly provide the correct number… straight to voicemail. My job requires me to hike, I’m unable to bend me knee, can’t perform my job duties, and cannot get a hold of my doctor. Not cool.

I am very grateful that Jamie Miller (and the entire team at Stateline Urgent Care) took care of me. She was professional, knowledgeable, genuine and compassionate. She asked questions and listened to my concerns. She discussed my options and answered my questions about each one. I loved getting to listen to her talk through her thought process about what was going on. She turned my outlook from near despairing (that may be a bit dramatic, but I was truly miserable) to hopeful. I'm happy to say that 2 days later I'm feeling great- her care plan seems to have worked well.

Beware! I went into Barton Urgent Care when I thought a UTI was coming on. I've been hospitalized for one in the past, so I take them seriously. A urine sample was collected and all was normal until the end of my visit. The doctor let me know that it was "standard practice" to perform a pregnancy and STD test on every female urine sample collected. So I guess they do this for 10 year old girls as well? Ridiculous. I declined the service 3 TIMES and stated that it was not needed nor should it be conducted as I was not consenting. To my disbelief, a week later I received a $500 bill in the mail for "lab work". The doctor sent my sample anyway to have the pregnancy and STD test completed against my will, which is ILLEGAL, and which I never received results. I was also never told of any charge associated with the testing during my visit and the doctor was extremely rude, combative, and deceitful. Barton has a history of service like this. I raised the issue to the head of the department who told me that they gave me proper service, which they did not. They gave me illegal service. They were not willing to even discount the bill. So now I'm stuck with a $500+ bill for service I declined nor wanted and am working to fight it legally. What should have been a $50 visit is now costing me much more. DO NOT GO TO BARTON.

I arrived in Lake Tahoe last night with some sinus problems. I woke up this morning totally congested blowing infectious gunk out of my nose. I decided to go to an urgent care in hopes that the doctor would give me some medicine so I would not have such a miserable trip. I chose to go to Barton urgent care. The receptionist, Annika was extremely nice over the phone and in taking my information. However, Dr. Steven Brooks was absolutely horrible! My visit with him was the absolute worst experience that I have ever encountered with a doctor. I asked him for a steroid shot or a steroid prescription to clear my congestion and sinuses up, and he refused to do that and did not give me any medication whatsoever. He told me to take Mucinex. Then, he basically told me that my doctor back home was an awful doctor for giving me steroid injections occasionally when I had severe sinus issues. I asked him if his website had a review spot, and he pretty much yelled at me and said why? So you can give me a bad review? He raised his voice at me and was extremely rude! I highly recommend not going to see him. Like I said the receptionist ladies were nice but if he is the doctor there then please go another direction. I plan on contacting their risk management team and filing a complaint against his horrific behavior and rudeness and refusal to give me any type of medication. I feel like it would have been different if I had been asking for pain medicine or something, but I was just clearly asking for something to help clear up my sinuses while I was on vacation. I really hope my review gets seen so people can here what a rude and unhelpful doctor he really is!

I was very skeptical given mixed reviews and my other mixed experiences with Barton. But I brought my 11 month old in with fever cold symptoms that were ongoing. They were prompt respectful and very caring and most importantly I finally got a diagnosis and proper medicine for my baby.

I went in for this nagging cough I got from all the smoke from Mosquito Fire.. The kindness shown right from the beginning of check-in to walking out the door was best I have seen from any hospital I have visited. Just a remarkable staff who were all very caring, the Nurse who took my vitals and information before the actual doctor came in was efficient yet showed sincere concern for this cough..then the Doctor who was also concerned, efficient and kindness shown..Just a great experience from beginning to end..

Definitely the most efficient urgent care center that I have ever visited. The staff were also kind, friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I appreciated the time the Doctor took to explain my options.
