ATI was so accommodating and helpful with my physical therapy. I went in for a bad ankle and left with a completely different lower body, strength and stability-wise Colin and Eric are both very friendly and easy to talk to. I would recommend ATI to any one of my friends in a heartbeat.

The team at ATI Amherst is fantastic. They know what they are doing, are very personable and sensible in their approach. I am very pleased that I found them. The facility is also well maintained and their hygiene practices related to tables and the rest of the environment are in accordance with best practices. Thanks folks!

My physical therapy is going well. I’m given the correct exercises to do at home as well as during my appts. Therapist is always giving me tips and making sure I’m not over doing it. Always asks how I’m feeling from previous appts to make sure the exercises I’m given are the right ones for me. They are all very pleasant. I enjoy going to the Amherst location very much.

I would not recommend this place (ATI Amherst) to anyone else with hypermobile conditions unless there were massive changes. The staff seems unfamiliar with the concept of chronic pain and hEDS. They said something I didn't understand and asked me if I understood, when I said it didn't really make sense to me they just blew past it rather than informing me of what they had meant and how it impacted their plan of care. One of the two people in the room with me was dismissive of my symptoms to the other staff (who she was training) and would roll her eyes when I said that I was in pain in all of my joints or ask clarifying questions. They asked me where I was in pain, and I told them the worst was my rhombiod (a potential nerve issue) at about a 8-10 level of pain. Instead of focusing on "problem" areas where we could build strength with little pain (like knees or hips where I wasn't having a flare-up that day), the staff pushed me to do exercises isolated to the area I was in pain to the point I was in tears. They told me, essentially, that it doesn't matter, everyone needs to push through the pain sometimes. I asked, "even when it's a 9 or a 10?" (referring to the pain scale). They said yes with an absolute lack of empathy. I left crying because they wouldn't listen to me and these last four days my rhomboid pain has been nearly constant at a 7-8 level of pain. And this pain scale is without taking into account how much chronic and underlying pain I am in daily, which means my 6 may be someone elses' 10; my severe pain may look like I am sitting normally rather than another who may be coddling a wound. Perhaps the fact that I was crying wasn't enough for them to realize how intense the pain was. I am not, and no one should need to be, comfortable with being medically mistreated. Stress being put on a nerve injury without explaination, continuing exercises past a severe level of pain, and not listening to the patient shows clear lack of knowledge, attention, compassion, and/or care. This place seems aimed at acute and sports injuries and was, on reflection, clearly lying when they said they were trained to help patients like myself. (This statement will also be going to their HR/Director, I hope they address these issues).

I was going to ATI Amherst facility because of having knee and left shoulder pain, I highly recommend this facility, mainly because the staff are very thorough with the care plan and exercises programs. I had to get additional treatment for my left shoulder. I needed many massage treatments from Colin, who worked out the kinks in my shoulder. I felt better afterward, and I am still working the exercises into my daily life. Thanks to you all. Lauren

I definitely would recommend ATI physical therapy! Everyone is extremely kind and empathetic, and I’ve felt really respected and supported as a queer/trans individual attending sessions there. ❤️

I have had such a wonderful time here working with everyone! They have supported me at all stages of my post op experience and have accommodated all my needs based off how I was feeling the day of. They are incredibly kind, supportive, and overall an amazing spot to go to if you’re in need of physical therapy. I’m so glad I went here!

I’m very happy I chose ATI for my PT. I need a hip replaced (early November) and Liz and Eric were sincerely understanding and knowledgeable. They both guided me through what I need to strengthen muscles that help keep the pain at bay. The entire staff were interactive with all patients and it was a light hearted fun atmosphere that made every appointment a fun experience. Highly recommended!!
