Athletico Physical Therapy - Cincinnati (Montgomery)

I suffered a severe injury to my foot - lizfranc injury that required months of physical therapy delivered by the Montgomery Athletico team. Shane, Shelby, Tiffany and Reagan were great partners in my recovery. They worked around my schedule, maintained great communications with my surgeon, and the whole process was much more pleasant than I had anticipated it would be. My physician referred me to Athletico for treatment of a partially torn rotator cuff. DPT Shelby Metz was my PT. Over the course of seven weeks, I regained full range of motion and strength in the shoulder. I heartily recommend Athletico for anyone's physical therapy needs. I will use them again if again need physical therapy.

My orthopedic doctor referred me to Athletico in Montgomery, Ohio and Shane was/is my physical therapist. I had fractured my ankle due to a pickleball injury, and was wearing a boot as prescribed by another doctor before I saw my present orthopedic doctor. Shane consulted with my doctor prior to my first appointment to understand the background of my injury. He took the time during my first appointment to understand my concerns and I was impressed by his empathy and confidence. Shane introduced exercises, stretches, and equipment in a way that was not inundating, and it was good to actually feel the difference in my ankle after performing these activities. He was able to treat my ankle to loosen it, and then provided instructions for several therapy exercises to continue to heal my ankle at home. Shane has been a game changer in my journey to recovery. Before Athletico and Shane, I was very limited in my ankle mobility, i.e., I couldn’t walk down the stairs normally, my normal pace of walking was extremely slow, and I was hesitant to move my ankle in a way that may reinjure it. Now I can confidently walk down the stairs and step onto the pickleball courts and get my game back. I highly recommend Shane and Athletico to anyone who suffered an injury, and needs the therapy and confidence to get back into the game!

Shelby and team are truly outstanding! From service and scheduling to the quality and tailored attention. Shelby has great expertise and does her best to help people recover. I liked she provided also recommendations for home and does follow up. Thanks for helping me get better faster !

Words cannot describe the gratitude I have for Dr. Shelby Metz at Athletico in Montgomery. My 17 year old son had been spinning his wheels with another PT office for 6 months. We were not seeing progress. He would make a little bit of progress but then pain would return and he would be back to doing the same exercises that weren’t producing any results. This was a vicious cycle and my son was losing hope that he would be able to play baseball again. Luckily his hope was not lost because we found Dr. Shelby Metz. She thoroughly evaluated my son and determined that there was more going on with my son’s shoulder than was previously diagnosed. Dr. Metz has used a variety of techniques to help my son… dry needling, strengthening exercises and manual manipulation. That has been the magic combination, and we saw more results after 2 weeks with Dr. Metz than in the previous 6 months at a different facility. Thank you Dr. Shelby and the Athletico staff for giving my son hope again and getting him back to playing baseball!

Great team! I had a work related injury. Shane and the Montgomery team took great care of me! Shane worked to get me the visits I needed and returned me back to my prior pain free self! If you have a severe ankle sprain don’t think it will heal on its own. Take the time you need and get a fantastic therapist to get you up and running again! Great job!

Shane and his staff are wonderful! I was in a lot of pain with my hip. The therapy and treatments helped me avoid surgery and gain mobility pain free!! I loved going and hope to return in the future. Would highly recommend for anyone needing PT.

There aren't enough superlatives to describe the physical therapy I received from Dr. Shelby Metz and the staff at this Athletico location. In less than three months after surgery for a complete rotator cuff tear in my right shoulder, I have regained virtually all the movement I had prior to the tear and am on the road to a complete recovery. Unlike the PT I have received in Chicago, Valparaiso, and other locations in Cincinnati, I was told what was being done, why it was being done, and the likelihood of success. Shelby was patient, understanding, and effective throughout my entire PT experience. I would highly recommend Athletico for any PT needs, and will certainly use them should the need arise in the future.
