Our 84 year old father took a fall in early November 2024. He was hospitalized for 5 days with low oxygen and a-fib. He was then prescribed with 2 weeks of rehab/physical therapy. We chose Aspire Traditional Care in Flagstaff due to a local physical therapist's recommendations and the positive reviews on Google. On day one, the check in process was pretty much what I expected: paperwork, Q&A on health background, taking current vitals, medication review, and meeting some of the staff. He had a private room with his own bathroom, DIRECTV with a wall-mounted TV, in-room thermostat, closet, adjustable bed, 2 chairs, desk with drawers, window with a decent view, phone, and 3 meals per day delivered to his room. The physical therapy room was pretty good size and had a large range of equipment. Brian, Aspire's Nurse Practitioner, was very personable and seemed to give a damn about my dad's condition, and wanted to provide the best care for my father, who was tired and weak since taking the fall. Brian was approachable and informative during my dad's entire stay. Maggie Brinkley (I forget her title, but she is like the coordinator/administrator for Aspire) was extremely helpful with multiple aspects of what we needed to do and with what she needed from us. My father was diagnosed with early stage dementia in the Summer of 2024, but his condition was a slow roll and he was still living independently in his own home. His fall in early November changed that. He is now in rapid cognitive decline and can no longer live alone without constant supervision and care. Maggie set up 4 appointments for us with 4 memory care facilities in Flagstaff. We visited all 4 facilities on November 19, and we chose one of them later that evening. Maggie was more than helpful through every aspect of my dad's 18-day stay at Aspire, as well as coordinating with the memory care facility we chose. Aspire provided the transportation for my father to the memory care facility. All of the nurses, CNA's, and other staff at Aspire were very nice and professional. I would recommend Aspire to anyone of any age who needs physical therapy and any of the other services they provide. --REB

I have no idea why Aspire’s rating is so low. They are absolutely fabulous and I give them so much credit in my grandma’s recovery. When my 92 year old grandma fell and broke her hip and hand, I checked online reviews to decide on a skilled nursing facility. I saw that the Haven of Camp Verde was rated the most highly, so I almost took her there, until I visited it first. I’m so glad I decided to go with Aspire instead. Aspire is a newer construction, the rooms are comfortable, and from the beginning, the staff really impressed me. Shannon was so responsive in coordinating her transition to Aspire, and came herself to move grandma from Verde Valley Hospital to Aspire. The nursing staff is awesome, and they were so attentive in regularly checking in on grandma, making sure she had all her needs met, monitoring any medical issues that came up. Sydney, Preston, and Abbey are rockstar nurses and always chatted with grandma and gave her words of encouragement as well as looking after her medical needs. Bryan, the supervising NP, kept a close eye on grandma and would give me regular updates on her condition. The PT and OT staff were also fantastic, Beau is fantastic at finding the perfect PT for grandma to work around her injuries, grandma loves Kyla and Laura, and Allison is an awesome OT! Overall the full time OT and PT staff are great at pushing grandma to get her back to baseline while also respecting the limitations of her injuries and age. Honestly the most difficult part of this whole experience was dealing with grandma’s health insurance who kept trying to discharge her prematurely, and fighting to keep her covered while she got the care she needed. In this, Maggie Brinkley was an absolute rockstar. She is the director of social services there, and is the one who advocates on behalf of patients. She was so helpful in answering all my questions, providing supporting documentation, following up with the insurance and appeal process and keeping me updated, an taking up the fight like she was fighting for her own family. I will always be forever grateful to her, without her help grandma would not have had the time she needed to progress to the level she is now. Keith Dorris, the executive director, was very helpful and advocated for grandma as well. Her doctor there, Dr. Balouch, wrote a letter strongly urging the medical need for grandma to remain at Aspire, and Bryan, the NP, took the time to write a letter stating the same, which helped us to win our appeal with her insurance. We had one negative experience with a temp OT, but that was an anomaly. The regular staff consistently demonstrate genuine care and dedication. If you’re looking for somewhere to send your loved one, send them to Aspire.

I was so well taken care of at Aspire. I went from barely being able to sit up or roll over on my own to walking out the doors with only a walker to help me balance in a month. The whole staff from the nurses, can's and the therapy team helped and encouraged me all the way. Nutrition was always willing to help my picky self find something to eat for every meal even if all I wanted was a PB&J. I highly recommend them if you need help after any kind of illness or injury.

I spent 10c days there in late Apr after a very complicated knee sx and was told by their PA (not a Dr., not a pain specialist, and certainly not a surgeon!) that he would not give me the med meds prescribed by my surgeon! So I suffered unnecessarily the entire time, but he remained smirky and arrogant and indifferent. He was not on-site, but was contracated to drop in! Most of the staff did their best, but one RN ignored my request for help for nearly an hour! When I complained, the head-nurse (Nurse Ratchet) stormed into my room with Keith, the Director and interrogated ME in defense of her negligent nurse! Keith promised to follow up but I never saw him again! The food was barely edible for the 1st 4 days and I was given one piece of dry bread with one piece of bologna for dinner one night! No condiments, no lettuce, cheese, tomato...nothing! I lost 15 pounds in a week! I'm still waiting to hear from Keith about Nurse Lana! I'd like to ask him why he tolerated the Charge Nurse being verbally abusive to me and why he allows her to interrupt him and push him around!

Aspire is a first class facility The nurses and assistants are kind, caring and competent. They have a rehab gym onsite with an army of therapists. My 86 year old father was there for over 1 month and was well cared for. I felt the place was well run and Maggie in social services was very helpful with regards to insurance and transitioning my dad to go home. The building is beautiful, new and in an idyllic setting. Thank you Aspire.

Don’t send your loved ones here. My 80 year old grandma was found on the floor in the bathroom and was taken to the emergency room due to a fall that happened while she was in their care. Who knows how long she was laying there. She came here to recover from a stroke she had a couple weeks ago. They are obviously not taking proper care of the patients here after reading previous reviews. After my grandmother had scans done at the ER, Aspire refused to have my grandma back as a patient and left her in the care of Flagstaff medical center. They said they are unable to provide care for her even though they were well informed of her medical history before she was taken as a patient. Not only did this ruin her progress but it has also set her back. My aunt was in contact with Keith, the executive director. “The safety and well-being of our patients and team members is our top priority. Please reach out to me directly so that I may address your concerns more effectively. Sincerely, Keith, Executive Director” A response is unnecessary unless you have genuine concern for this situation Keith

My brother was at Aspire for about 2 weeks. I can’t say enough good things about this place and all the workers. The Director of Social Services Magdelene set up the starting process, which made it simple. The environment in this place is so peaceful and clean, the food was also great! A BIG THANKS to all the staff that cared for my brother, so many to name, you treated my brother like your own family. Because of the physical therapy team, my brother did not need physical therapy when released. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a facility as this. With all offered at Aspire, you will have to look NO FURTHER. I give this place a well deserved 5 STARS. Thank you Aspire staff, you will always be appreciated.
