They lack compassion and kindness. If maybe Dru had been more patient and understanding with my mom's rightful fear of falling again, my mom wouldn't have given up after having trusted her and having her security crushed by Dru's sudden hatefulness. Maybe my Mom would still be here if given that basic human need and understanding after such a near brush with death, esp. from a medical professional. But now my Mom is gone. Thanks Dru, for the reminder that people are just numbers and cattle needing to be ushered in and out for insurance purposes. Thanks for failing my Mom. Your treatment of people impacts. It matters. Maybe not to you. Clearly.

THE PARAGON of outpatient therapy; A fantastic modern facility gorgeously decorated with all the state of the ART technology and tangible instruments STAFFED by confident EXPERIENCED, Compassionate PROFESSIONALS with courteous, FRIENDLY reception PERSONNEL on every floor and a wonderful well stocked BISTRO and GYM,in a ASTHETICALLY PLEASING ENVIRONMENT.
They are so nice and so thoughtful of everything surrounding my condition. And the pool is a good warm temp, makes pt a lot better 😺
I was involved in a hit-and-run while on my bike in late 2018, resulting in left leg tibia/fibula/femur breaks. Multiple surgeries at St. Johns. When it came down to outpatient rehab, I chose Chapman as it is part of St. Johns, and is close to home. Initially I worked out with 50% weight bearing in the rehab pool. This is a large indoor heated pool at ~4' deep most of the length. Located on the ground floor, the reception desk would give me a key to use in the expansive locker room. The locker room connected to several showers and bathrooms. It has a 'spin-dry' for wet clothing. The loaned key would open one of the locker doors. During this time I worked with Will, and mainly focused on walking and balancing while in the water (~70% weight reduction while in the pool). Eventually I transitioned to the rest of the rehab center (located on the 4th floor). There I worked mainly with Chrisi, and we worked on strength/balance/weights. The rehab facility has a ton of different machines & equipment. I did not feel as if it was lacking in any way. Both Will & Christi were fantastic - easy to work and interact with, while pushing myself physically a bit every visit. In short order, I pushed through (most of) my limitations and am back in the 'real world.' It will not be too much longer before you see me running or biking again.
Debra Hicks is an amazing Physical therapist. She is helping me so much and I'm so grateful to have her! ♡♡♡
