Apple Rehab Colchester

Run don't walk away from here! My 91 yo, Korea veteran father was admitted to Apple rehab in Colchester on July 9th and my daughter & l removed him on July 12th because he was not safe there. He has brain bleeds and is a total assist when walking. The first night "H" (RN) took him to the bathroom with no gait belt or walker. Excuse for no walker was that none were available...really? In a rehab?? He waited for 1 hour for his call bell to be answered and when it was not he was forced to go by himself on another occasion. Also he received 3 trays with no liqids on them. There was a small amount of blood on his pillowcase from a head wound. After looking for someone to give me a fresh one, l took the soiled one off and laid the blood side up at the foot of the bed. The next day the same pillowcase was back on his pillow! I took it to "L" (RN) and she took it from me with no gloves on and gave me a clean one! Finally the day we decided my father's safety was an issue, he was at the VA in Newington with my daughter for an appt. He was gone FIVE hours by the time l got to Apple and when l asked for him the staff couldn't seem to locate him! They had no idea that he was gone. There was a used urinal on his nightstand from the morning which means no-one even bothered to check on him during 1st shift. I could go on but these are the highlights of my father's 3 day out of 2 wk visit. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!.PLEASE

Apple Rehab in Colchester impressed me greatly with its cleanliness and caring staff. It has a homelike atmosphere with knowledgeable staff. The food is great and the nurses provide excellent and professional care. I highly recommend this facility.

Recently had a relative stay here. Facility was top notch and the staff was great. Highly recommended!
