Hello Dr. Bizilj is a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor, one of very few in this area. If you have been diagnosed and treated for Lyme disease by your PC and have recurring symptoms, you should call Antero Health Care. Do be aware that your insurance will not cover the cost. Even blood tests may not be covered, but don’t let the high cost stop you. His approach to this difficult disease starts with patient education. One appointment is enough, if you do the homework assigned to you. This is not “passive treatment”. I’ve had “Lyme Disease” since the early 90’s and have struggled through several “flairs”, each one worse than the last. The cognitive issues are the scariest by far because decisions can be dangerously incorrect. Attempting to stay within the insurance/medical world was one of my serious screw ups. Standard medicine does not understand the complexities of this disease so can only treat the symptom and not the cause. It’s not their fault; it’s the system they live in. This clinic perpetuates medical fraud by telling its patients that they have Chronic Lyme Disease, a "disease" not recognized by the scientific community.
