Amber Hill Therapy Centers

The Amber Hill Physical Therapy team in Frederick was the best team I have ever encountered. Mike Johnston and Ken Whang put me through the paces and constantly upped the challenges to improve my Achilles Tendonitis. Ryan was also a proven member of the team who assisted with cold and heat therapies. All were polite and very helpful. The improvements I made in 10 visits were remarkable. I am walking again and enjoying life!

Amber Hill physical therapy in Frederick is awesome. The office is clean (you can even smell how clean it is), the therapists are always friendly, respectful, and listen to your therapeutic needs! Katherine is ever so friendly every time I come in or call the office and Mike is professional and precise! They make therapy easy and fun while still pushing me to do my best in my recovery journey.

Before Amber Hill, my experience with PT was in a large, open room, with wall-to-wall people. Essentially chaos. But Amber Hill is a whole different kind of experience. At Amber Hill, each patient gets their own room, so you don't feel like everyone and their sister can hear your questions and conversation. In addition, rather than automatically scheduling me with the same therapist every time, I got to rotate among providers. Mike, Ken, and Denise have each contributed meaningfully to my PT. And, since they each have different strengths and techniques, if you find one that is a better fit for you, you can make certain to schedule with them going forward. Best of both worlds!

The Physical Therapists and staff are great. They are attentive, knowledgeable and give you guidance and support during your therapy session. They work with you during your entire session and gave me exercises that I can do on my own at home.

I needed to regain my strength after a major bout of pneumonia. My legs felt like dead weights and I could barely get up and down the stairs. I spent a month of physical therapy with the team, going twice a week, and have regained my strength and improved my balance beyond what it was before. The exercises and follow up plan is designed to enhance your normal activities and to boost your ability to do the fun activities you like to do. I highly recommend all the therapists as they are all familiar with your case. Thumbs up!

I cannot express how much Amber Hill has helped me over the years. Ken’s hands on manipulation has helped enormously with the pain and the exercises I do are always guided and accompanied by him, so my form is always correct and I don’t hurt myself further. I would give 6 stars if I could!

I have been going to AHPT for several years. They have helped my back, foot, and currently, my knee. I am post-op 4.5 weeks and just made 125 degrees flexion in my knee - I'm so proud! Ken is amazing at giving evaluations and prescribing exercises. Denise has helped me tremendously and is so encouraging! Although I haven't had Mike this time around (yet), I always enjoy working with him and talking bicycling shop with him :) Zack is also a wonderful physical therapist. I wouldn't keep coming back if I weren't happy already! Great job guys - keep up the good work!
