duel bed rooms are 60/40 and I was put in smaller side. upon moving down the halls in wheel chair, I found that there were 8 single larger rooms empty on same day I WAS ADMITTED. you could not even walk on one side of bed [which was also smaller than other side] the space was so limited. also if you rang for help after 11-pm it would some times take as long as 45-50 min for response, which resulted in my having to wear diaper as sometimes could not hold it for that long. P. T. was to happen twice a day but I never got it but once as they would start a new IV drip about the same time as 2nd. session and P. T. tech would come by saying sorry cannot take you with IV attached. overall some of staff was very good, but others were immigrants, and could hardy make out what they were saying. in quired as to getting moved to a single room couple times but never had a response. were I be there again I would insist on single room and more P. T. time. after release I WAS TO HAVE HOME CARE NURSE STARTING ASAP after release but it took a week to finally get it locked in as paper work between alta mesa and tango home health was held up as each blamed the other for not sending or receiving the paperwork. this caused me to have NO wound dressing changed til it was sorted out but I was supposed to have it changed every 3rd day because of drainage.

Alta Mesa Health and Rehabilitation has been a blessing! Every one has been so helpful and kind. A couple of times the workers weren’t able to directly help me, but they have always gone out of their way to give me resources and contacts for people who could help. The last year my mom has been in and out of different rehabilitation centers and Alta Mesa was the only place were she made any progress and it felt like she was taken care of without us worrying. Thank you Alta Mesa for all of the help and care you given my family!

**My relative was discharged from here with an active MRSA infection and fever and unable to stand or walk unassisted, where a few days before was walking unassisted. My relative probably would have died if I didn't pick them up and take them to the ER. ****Initially, My elderly loved one had a UTI infection and needed some recovery time after the hospital. In my opinion this place is the lowest out of the 3 rehabs we had been to in the Mesa area. My loved one was weaker but had not fallen. Was put on fall risk and was not allowed to get up alone, they blocked the floor with a mattress. My relative had not fallen until they put the mattress on the floor by their bed and tripped. The call button is a hallway light... and they would sit in a dirty and wet diaper and full catheter bag for hours due to not enough staff. Now has diaper rash. They developed bed sores on heels from sitting in bed all day/night. In my opinion, didn't have the quality physical therapy or OT compared to another facility they had recently been in. They frequently forgot to help put dentures in all day, threw Denture cream away, lost dentures in the laundry, etc. Remember, was not allowed to get up without help. Help took forever to come. I feel like the patients here are virtual prisoners, so they can claim low fall/accident rates. In my opinion, this is abuse. I could go on and on... You've been warned.

Alta Mesa Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is foremost in patient care. The leadership is excellent attending to the needs of their patients and family members with utmost dispatch. I love the nurses. As tough as their job might be, they always keep a cool demeanor. I give them 5 ***** And I should state here also that the Director of Nursing has a great management acumen. The ADON is also great and cool headed. The Executive Director is always a good sport. The management is very supportive of its staff and truly makes it a very conducive environment to work. I love Alta Mesa.

NIGHTMARE-DISGUSTING- FILTHY-DARK. We transferred my father in law in less than 24 hours. Go visit it before you send any loved ones there. It’s AWFUL!

My son and girlfriend went to visit my dad today and immediately knew grandpa wasn’t right. It took him 15 mins to even find a staff member. First person he ran into refused to help him stating she was clocked out so reassuring your hours are worth someone’s life. . He then decided he was going to call 911they then tried denying him to call. When they refuse to let you call 911 to get your family member help they need that tells me your trying to cover your mistake. Why did it take 15 mins to find a nurse? How long was my dad laying unresponsive before his grandson and granddaughter arrived? Why did they mock his grandkids asking if they were nurses or drs. No they are not but they know there grandfather and knew he was not ok. When your unresponsive your not ok and it doesn’t take medical degree to know that. They Repeated to tell my son he is removing my dad against medical advice. Well my dad was transferred to hospital after my son called paramedics and he was immediately placed in ICU. Had my son not went up today my dad would have died and who knows how long before someone would have noticed. Paramedics said they do not recommend any one going to this facility. the state needs to investigate this place ASAP. and yes calls will be made Monday morning.

If zero stars were an option I would click that, This is unacceptable my grandma hasn’t been changed in over 2 hours she has had her call light on for over 2 hours, I spoke to staff and you can HEAR the call lights on in the background. I need better care to come to her this is unacceptable, I’m a CNA myself and I understand the pressure but you still need to answer the lights and do constant changes. I have worked in a home before I get it but this is not okay.

Do not recommend bringing family members here to recover. My mom received very little physical therapy and staff was too busy to assist getting her up to use the restroom. She was seriously sick and crying in pain and we asked to have her transported to the hospital. The nurse and phone doctor (not on site) said it was against their medical advice and made me call 911. She ended up having a fever, UTI and blood infection. The hospital said she definitely should have gone to the hospital. I was even told by a nurse "I'm not a miracle worker" when asked to help my mom and get her to the hospital.
