Excellent place to enjoy learning new things, get healthy, and make new friends! I've been taking classes here for 6 years and find the instructors exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. The staff is equally so. They are a dedicated group of people, who are always ready to help individuals experience the most out of life. The center is clean and spotless! Anyone looking ro expand their interest and enjoy what life has to offer, should definitely check out this place!

AWC is a wonderful place for seniors. It helps seniors to exercise to stay fit and maintain their independence. There are many different types of class for all levels of fitness. They also offer acupuncture. There is also an Ipad class. The cost for classes is reasonable. There is so much they offer. Call or drop by and talk to Jennifer. All classes are so much fun and you go at your own pace. This doesn't even include all the benefits for seniors at Yu Ai Kai, especially their nutritious and delicious lunches. I am at Akiyama Wellness Center four mornings a week, taking the Ipad class, Yakercise, Zumba, Enhanced Fitness class and La Blast. I am so happy I discovered AWC five years ago. My husband also volunteers for the newspaper program. If you have newspapers they can always use newspapers for their fundraising. Just drop them off at AWC m-th 8-11:00 am.

Have been an active member of the AWC, participating in five of their health promoting exercise classes weekly. These classes have helped my balance, strength, and mobility. Jennifer, the facility and activity manager, does a great job in providing a safe, fun place for us attendees! Also, the IPad class is certainly a brain stimulating and fun class...have been in it since it started at the AWC!

I’ve primarily attended the iPAD/iPhone/iOS class every week for several years. There’s always something to learn as software changes every 4-6 months. It’s an opportunity to keep up with changes and ask questions, socialize, and share technology concerns. I’ve also attended acupuncture and massage sessions held here at Akiyama Wellness Center. Very convenient one-stop offerings for Seniors. Others have mentioned many of the other services offered so I won’t repeat them here.

Akiyama Wellness Center is an invaluable resource in San Jose Japantown. It is such a unique meeting place that provides seniors almost everything they need to continue to thrive. My Mom broke her hip two years ago and is now taking four exercise classes here. Jennifer Wong is welcoming and encouraging as well as all the teachers, volunteers and participants. My 93 year old Mom also walks over to Yu Ai Kai for lunch, on occasion. The services at Akiyama Wellness compliment Yu Ai Kai's offerings perfectly. It is a great asset to our aging seniors. It is difficult to name all they offer, but this is definitely a big reason why my Mom is almost back to her active self. She is more confident and moves with more ease now that she has been exercising here. I have taken some classes there as well, love the yoga! If you have an aging parent you should see the classes they offer and aging seminars.

Jennifer who greets us as we enter and answers questions about classes and is so fun helps keep everything running smoothly. There is a great variety of classes and lots of comardie here. People are friendly, instructors are great and knowledgeable.

I enjoy coming to this place and teaching seniors how to use their iPad. The center is a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere to teach in. The center works with teachers to help you give back to the community.

Very nice facility with various programs. I take the iPad class on Monday mornings with Jess which is exceptional. Always fun and we learn a lot every week.
