AFC Physical Medicine & Chiropractic Peoria

I receive great care at AFC Peoria. I have severe upper back, shoulder, and neck pain from a bad car accident over 30 years ago with arthritis developing from such. I have had limited treatment options because of insurance over the years. I was so excited that this place accepted and utilizes my insurance plan. The care has been incredible and the office has been VERY accommodating to me as I drive approximately 65 miles to get this care. They have always worked with me because of this which demonstrates care and individualized treatment. The Dr. has a super personality and really tries to address my immediate concerns and pain level by adjusting modalities to suit what is happening when I come in. PT staff have also been very personable and accommodating. I know they have to follow certain procedures to bill insurance so some things seem redundant or overkill but if that is what it takes for great care... I'm game. Thank you AFC Peoria!

The people there are very nice, the problem is the way they are set up and how they treat. It seems the treatment plan is not tailored to the person/problem. It is standard for everyone (which was not told to me when I started). They run many small "medical" tests I was not told about and could have done without but they were billed to my insurance. I went because they do trigger point injections, only to find out they have a standard plan where they inject many areas (many that were not a concern to me) in the meantime billing my insurance and using up my payments/visits and not addressing the issues I was very clear I was there to address. I had high hopes for this treatment but stopped after paying $1200 out of pocket and almost $3500 through insurance with very little relief. Be careful, ask questions, if you are not interested in a long haul, treat every inch of you and want to address a specific area of pain, not the place for you and they don't tell you this upfront. During my treatments I requested certain areas be focused on as I was in pain but was told that was not the process. I was informed I owed for the last few treatments (after the fact) that my payments/benefits had run out. I should have been told 2 visits prior but was not (likely due to the office manager leaving). I did get a small price adjustment but in the scheme of things it was not enough. It was implied that I was not consistent with my care, which was not true, I started going less often when I saw the way things were going and it was not helping me and I was running out of benefits. Prior to that I went 2 or 3 times a week. When I said that I tried to get adjusted like a substitute chiro there had adjusted me and it did not happen I was told that "chiropractors are like hair dressers, and they do not all adjust the same way"???? There is typically only one there and how are you to know they will not be able to adjust you the way you need until you get started and then you have paid and committed I left in tears yesterday and won't be back, wish I could report better results but I cannot. I warn against "signing up" for anything long term here as is their practice. Good Luck to all in their pursuit of relief. My search continues...........

Great staff. Working on a four-month plan to get my back and neck issues stabilized and aligned. They are very caring and sensitive to a patient’s problems, needs, and comfort.

The AFC Chiropractic team is the most comprehensive form of spinal therapy I have seen. After my accident, Dr. Winters was the first person that helped me on my road to recovery. His initial assessment and thorough explanations helped me understand more than any article or book. Tierra, the nurse that gives the trigger-point injections, was always a pleasure to interact with and the "touch" of her injections are soft (this coming from someone who has multiple tattoos). Paige is also a delight being that she is always cheery. The AFC team is full of helpful individuals that are full of insight. For instance, Dixie shared a scapular stretch with me that I would preform when the pain would arise and that helped in the speed of my recovery greatly. Dr. Tori made me aware of how much tension I had in my neck and shoulder areas by showing me a shoulder adjustment that no other chiropractor has. In Conclusion, I strongly recommend giving Dr. Winters or Dr. Tori at AFC Chiropractic if you are experiencing any back, neck or shoulder pain. The combination of staff members and the tools at hand on site and available for home use is the best way to ensure a quick and healthy recovery.

Staff is very friendly and professional. Everyone there treated me and my fiance like family. The Dr even went out to the waiting area to introduce himself to my fiance after seeing me. Very soft spoken and kinda hard to hear him but he's an amazing person and Dr from what I can tell. I know my back is screwed but he was so nice about breaking it to me but I told him I've known this for years but because nothing shows on x-ray or MRI they tell me nothing is wrong. But 6 years ago I was referred to The Core institute and they couldn't find anything on image either but my specialist did exploratory surgery and had to fix my rotator cuff and shave bone spurs and also reattach a severed bicep tendon while in there. I'm hoping for no surgery but pretty sure I need a lot of them after falling threw a t channel ceiling after having a heat stroke 16 years ago at the Chandler animal surgical center and hitting the metal surgery table on my way down. Woke up in an AM with my clothes cut and ice packs all over my body. But this place is legit and Is all about caring for their patients.

Worse clinic ever, they do not make treatments lans based off your needs. Everyone gets the same plan only difference is maybe a little longer or shorter based on how much money you pay. You are just a number to this clinic and if they can have you as a patient for a decade while you drain your pockets for them then they will do that.
