A1 Speech Therapy

We have been going to A1 Speech Therapy for the past year and a half and have been so happy with our experience! Our son has made so much progress and we are thrilled with his growth. Melanie has been amazing! Her sessions keep our son engaged and interested. He is always so excited to meet with her each week! Melanie also does a great job communicating with us (his parents) about ways we can support our son's speech at home throughout the week. We could not be more thankful for A1 Speech!

My son started speech with A1 when he was a year and a half. I had so many feelings about his speech delay but the owner and speech therapist gave me such reassurance and worked so well with my son. They kept him engaged and immediately we saw progress. Now at 5, my son has made so much improvement. He loves working with Melanie and does not like having to miss a session with her. It shows what a true bond these two have made over the years. Melanie is extremely knowledgeable and challenges my son in the best way to develop and strengthen his communication skills. She uses his interests to work on skills so it does not even feel like work to him. I am grateful for all that A1 has done for my son.

My son was referred to speech therapy just as lockdown started, he was 2 years old. A1 gave us online sessions right away but he was just too young and could not follow. A1 worked with me and found a speech therapist who was willing to do in person appointments a couple months later. My son was one of only two kids who were doing in person appointments, but A1 kept the office open for us and worked so well with him. It took a year, but thanks to Melanie, we began making real progress and my son was finally able to call me mommy and tell me he basic needs. Melanie worked not only son, but also with me on techniques to work with at home. Now my son not doesn’t stop talking and I am so grateful to Meanie and the A1 team for everything they do.

When I realized my two children needed speech therapy for the more challenging type of lisp (lateral), I began to research to find the absolute best place to take them. I was very particular about finding someplace with extensive experience helping with this particular speech challenge. After interviewing several places, I spoke with Janet and was immediately impressed with her extensive knowledge and her professionalism. She patiently answered all of my questions (I had many!). When I first took my young boys to her office, I was very impressed with how lovely, clean, modern and cheerful her therapy spaces were. Bright light, lots of toys and games, and a relaxed, fun atmosphere made it an enjoyable place for my boys to be. Janet did an excellent job analyzing my boys' speech issues and putting effective therapy into place. After assessing that both boys also needed to fix their R as well as their lateral lisp, the task seemed daunting, but Janet did an amazing job helping my boys effectively tackle their speech issues. After each session they got to choose a fun snack, and after 5 sessions, they got to choose a toy. My boys really looked forward to the toy rewards! One my sons worked with another therapist later in his therapy, and she, like Janet was absolutely excellent. Janet and her staff were not only very experienced, but also caring and fun, and always so encouraging and affirming of my boys' efforts and progress. I am happy to report that my boys' speech therapy with A1 was an absolute success, and they can now produce excellent Ss and Rs! I can't recommend A1 Speech Therapy highly enough. Do your child a favor and choose this excellent practice. Fixing a speech impediment is not easy. Your child deserves the best therapy possible.

We have been going to A1 speech therapy since 2019. My son’s speech has improved so much during the last 2 years. Melanie is an excellent speech therapist. She always has new ideas and tricks to keep the sessions interesting. Everyone at the office are really nice and helpful. 100% recommended 👍👍

They never answer the phone!! I've been calling this place for a week. They screen their calls also with google voice which is annoying. I called Monday to to set up an appointment for my son. No answer. I left a voicemail, no call back. I called twice Tuesday. Someone picked up the second time to only tell me whomever works the desk wasn't there and to leave my info and I'd get a call back. It's now Thursday .. I called AGAIN.. no answer. Don't waste your time. They are very unprofessional and they seem to not want any business ; so don't give the any business. I don't recommend!

I first brought my daughter to A1 Speech Therapy in February of 2016. We left a different therapist after not being satisfied. Janet made us feel welcome and my daughter immediately started making some progress. We have had a couple therapists since we have been here and everyone here has been great. Some of the things I like and appreciate are: - The whole staff is friendly, helpful and work to reinforce what we are working on. - I can email and get a response from the SLP or administrative assistant quickly. - They have a lot of fun and engaging materials to work with. - The staff is prompt trained. - There is always a clear plan for achieving goals. - We have clear homework to work on each appointment. - My daughter looks forward to coming and often doesn't want to leave! I would and often do recommend A1 Speech Therapy.

We had such a wonderful experience with Janet and A1 Speech Therapy! I was very concerned about my daughter's speech and language and this practice was highly recommended to us. We went in for an evaluation. The office was clean, bright and inviting. Our wait time was very short. Janet was incredibly friendly and my daughter who is normally shy and wary of strangers, quickly felt at ease and was more than happy to talk and participate in the evaluation. My daughter enjoyed playing with all of the fun toys and games in the clean, bright and kid friendly room. The evaluation was play based and Janet made it very fun for her. Janet provided me with a wealth of information and materials following the exam as well as her recommendations regarding treatment. She was friendly and honest, and I felt that she gave me the tools I needed to carry over treatment at home. I have seen many speech therapy practices and I am beyond impressed with Janet and A1 Speech Therapy. I do not normally post reviews, but we had such a wonderful experience here and we will definitely be back. Thank you Janet and A1 Speech Therapy for all you have done for my daughter!
